Winter Weekend at Camp Candlewood: We rented the Lighthouse at Camp Candlewood in the winter and had a great time. The girls loved it! Kitchen, nice bathrooms, mattresses, tables and chairs, hiking. We use the time to get ready for World Thinking Day and also Booth Sales. Since it is close, we also made dinner for the moms and invited them up for one of the evenings for dinner and games.
Another troop was there and they rented the dining hall. Full commercial kitchen. On one weekend they did "Cupcake Wars" using a girl scout cookie in the cupcake and on the weekend we were their they did a murder mystery dinner. They were a high school troop. Big space with fireplace.
Note: If you use the commercial kitchen in the cafeteria, I believe there are some restrictions. Check with Council when you make the reservation. Someone may have to be certified in food service/safety -- which is an on-line course you can take. Not 100% sure of this, but worth investigating before you make plans.

Gillette's Castle East Haddam, CT It
looks like a medieval fortress, but a step inside the stone castle reveals the
built-in couches, table trackway, and woodcarvings that all point to the
creative genius that was William Gillette. In 2002, a four-year, $11.5
million restoration project was completed. While the castle is the main
attraction, the grounds are equally spectacular, providing scenic river views
and opportunities for hiking and picnicking.
